Beatlemania
The large protruding yellow submarine is hard to miss near Beatle Square in Hamburg, Germany and the inscription ‘Beatlemania’ on the side needs no translation. On May 29, 2009 the Beatlemania Museum,an exhibition dedicated to the British band, opened its doors in Hamburgs Reeperbahn district. It is located near the clubs on the Reeperbahn where in the early 1960s the young and just-formed Beatles honed their skills onstage daily and from where they went on to conquer the world.
This project under the patronage of Mayor Ole von Beust offers five floors and 1,300 square meters of Beatle atmosphere. Visitors can follow the Fab Four through their wild times in Hamburg, record songs together with John, Paul, George and Ringo in the Abbey Road recording studios, sneak a peak backstage at a Beatles concert, take a trip with Captain Fred abroad the Yellow Submarine.
